Snake would have been easiest. Don't have to mess around with UV/calcium supplements etc
Got a 6ft Boa Constrictor myself Had a couple Tarantulas in the past too.
Monitor lizards grow upwards of 6 foot....beastly creatures. They require a whole room to themselves.

I thought about snakes. But I know some dumbass kid will get hurt. Plus it brings in the large scare factor. A lot of teachers don't like snakes and thus would not be pleased. Got to keep my co-workers happy too...

stuffed toy animals....you dont have to feed them, you dont have to walk them.....and you can ignore them for years and then when you need a hug---they are there for you .
we had a cat when I was a kid, brothers had fish (we had lots of tanks growing up--brothers had more when they moved out and got married).....mom had a dog, and my sisters still have their dogs.....I have stuffed toys
I am not very good when it comes to routines--we have plants and remembering to water them is about as much trouble as we can handle (good thing we never had kids, right?)
dont really have any place for a live animal here (cant have a dog--an am allergic to cats, fish require too much maintenance....and more space than I have available --and yes they do, besides feeding, you must keep their tanks clean--every other month when I was a kid we spent a whole weekend moving the fish to another tank, washing the gravel, putting in new whatevers in the pumps, charcoal etc, then having to wait for the water to get to the right conditions...move the stuff back in...did I mention we had a few tanks????)
shivers.....I remember those days...
making spinach souffle for dinner tonight.....have been thinking about it all week (its a big project for me)....

I thought about fish, but having to change their water from a 75 gallon tank made me rethink that. Turtles crossed my mind as well but they turned out to be harder to take care of than I had thought. So ya, settling with a lizard. At least I can take it home on weekends in the smaller tank when he is a juvenile so that I don't have to worry about driving into school on weekends.
I would prefer to have a dog as my pet but my apartment does allow for one. Plus I don't have time for it atm. So I'll hold off for now. But once I get a house I'm definitely getting a dog.

Ah I didn't know you was keeping it at school.
Oh btw glass tanks are not suitable enclosures for Bearded Dragons. Here in the UK you'd get ripped for keeping any reptiles except chameleons in a glass tank. Glass doesn't retain enough heat.
We use these here - http://www.vivexotic.co.uk/products.html
Helpful website - http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/forums/ (has American users too)

Not here. They pretty much encourage you to keep them in either a glass tank or a screen cage. The screen cage would retain LESS heat than the glass tank. So ya. Dunno. But the tank is free so I'm gonna fill it. And fish are not happening. Just saying lol My brother kept his lizard in a glass tank for as long as he had it (8 years) and it didn't have any problems.

irresponsible idiots....I really wish I had enough money and a good job so we could get our own house.

They just took the door? Just like hey, a door! MY DOOR! And it was gone? Wow... Crazy and uncool.
Well today I have work, then float building till 5:30, then I have to run home, pick up a package that will probably get here at like 9:30am... Then I have to run back to school to be part of the chain gang for powderpuff football... Won't be home till like 8-8:30 tonight... Sad day.

pwnd, you have one of my old days....I only wish my clones had worked out (they were all pretty baaaaaad ).
I forgot to call the asssssociation person last night to find out about the door (had other problems that needed solving, and they are only available to take your call for about 2 short hours....good thing bad stuff doesnt happen here that you need to contact them about immediately)...
well, hope to see my door back today....or I will remember to call this time!

Would have been nice... But at least the day is over now. Float building was fun, did it with a fun staff member and powderpuff was interesting... They really got into it but they sucked big time. Just glad today is over.
And Malice, LOL at that.

I think I have allergies(ragweed), but benydryl seems to help. Rain for the weekend with a flood watch warning. I guess I should finish my ark.

'tis the season---hubby had his last week, hence I got no sleep last week (he is almost over it)...I am getting better--took my preventatives early (vit c and zicam)...and tried to sleep when I could (eg whenever hubby was not).
think its just about nap time for me again--still sick.
time to take extra vitamins and wash your hands a lot!

Ya, I take vitamins everyday. Took some vitamin C this morning as well. Then drove to the store to pick her up some medicine and orange juice. Got to try to stay healthy since I have to work and stuff.
